Job Description

City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.

With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.

Assists in the development, design, and facilitation of handouts, presentations, and related materials for various programs. Assists in program development and in the development and execution of communication and outreach plans. Coordinates and facilitates program related training and budget needs. Conducts necessary analyses and provides reports as needed. Supports on administrative duties, logistics and planning on ad hoc projects and programs. Maintains confidentiality and sets a positive example of morale, attitude and motivation.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Assists in the development, design and facilitation of handouts, presentations, and various program related materials. Updates materials as needed.
  • Projects future training needs and adjusts training timeline; determines need for and supports outreach to managers.
  • Projects budget and supply needs.
  • Coordinates logistics, planning and tools for programs and events.
  • Participates in meetings as required.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of communication plans (e.g., develop materials, write articles). Develops and maintains website(s).
  • Performs content analyses of qualitative data.
  • Assists in the selection, development, and purchasing of branded materials, within budget.
  • Manages inventory of materials.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of initiatives as needed.
  • Coordinates and leads any needed contract management and purchasing processes.
  • Conducts research and develops subject matter expertise as needed.
  • Liaises and coordinates with staff who are participating in initiatives (e.g., assigns and monitors projects, helps develop recognition and reward strategies, distributes rewards, provides support materials).
  • Assists in the development of training and workshops as needed.
  • Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.
  • Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Your qualifications should include:

Minimum Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelors Degree

Minimum Experience:

  • Two years responsible program support experience.
  • Preferred Experience: Project Coordination. Procurement and Data Entry

  • Must be comfortable with Weekend and Holidays availability

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $21.36 - $26.02 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
